Artist's Statement I have always enjoyed the playful quality of clay. I like to rip, stretch and draw in the rolled out slabs, and paint and splash the finished pieces with the coloured slips. The free and spontaneous style I have means that each piece has individuality and an element of fun. The boat theme originated in a move from London to Leigh on Sea and having the Thames estuary nearby. Cockle trawlers, pleasure craft and container ships all play a part in my designs, each piece is individual and named for its new owner. |
